On Tuesday, October 21st, Denise attended the Cinekid for Professionals Industry Forum, a gathering dedicated to advancing the quality and impact of children’s media.
The forum opened with a compelling keynote by Thor Svanholm Gustavfson, who explored how media professionals can support children in imagining alternative futures, especially futures that are more inclusive and equitable.
Following the keynote, Denise facilitated two roundtable sessions where she shared her research and engaged in in-depth conversations with media literacy advocates, policymakers, and children’s media producers. These discussions were lively and wide-ranging, touching on both the opportunities and challenges in today’s digital media landscape.
What stood out most were the thoughtful reflections, critical questions, and fresh perspectives on how we can better support children in navigating digital environments.
